Dick B. said...

For the year 2010, we make a new and important point and it answers a vital question: "What is the real "Power" Behind A.A.?" The answer can be found in A.A. itself. The real power is God! The A.A. Big book spells out the fact that alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful and too much for those who have lost the ability to control their drinking. Then the book promises: But there is One who has all Power. That One is God.

It goes on to point to three pertinent ideas; and the last one declares "that God could and would if He were sought."

That's the power. It is well spelled out in the Book of Acts in the Bible for all Christians and those who want the power. See Acts 4:7-14. For those born again of the spirit of God, power is available and sealed within them.
They just need to learn how to utilize it.

Christians in the recovery arena are not alone today. They are keeping company with many who do not believe as they do and some who claim they will get drunk if they read the Bible or ask God for help.

But Christians need to know "the rest of the story." All three of the first three AAs believed in God. All three were Christians. All three turned to God alone for help in their most desperate hours. And all three were cured, said so, and were continuously sober for the rest of their lives.

God Bless, Dick B. www.dickb.com
